Consulting Success Stories
“All the beautiful sentiments in the
world weigh less than a single lovely action.”
-
James R. Lowell
I agree with
James Lowell. It means a lot when people tell me they’ve enjoyed
working with me. It means even more when they SHOW me something
tangible they’ve produced as a result of our time together.
For many years,
my business was called Action Seminars because my philosophy is, “The
purpose of education is not knowledge . . . it’s action.” My goal
for my presentations has always been to provide real-life information
people are inspired to apply so they reap real-world results.
The same is
true with my consulting.
My goal is for us to make tangible progress towards your
goals.
I feel I’ve
succeeded when you hold your finished book in your hands; when the
audience rises as one to give you a thundering ovation; when you
generate income from your proprietary intellectual capital; when your
idea, cause or campaign gets noticed and supported; when you produce
products that make a positive difference for others and a profitable
living for you.
The following
are just a few of the success stories I’ve been fortunate to play a role
in. I hope to have an opportunity to do the same for you.
“An hour spent
consulting with Sam Horn is more valuable than gold. She mines
your ideas and shows you how to present your thoughts more clearly and
more profitably. This is the best investment I’ve made in my
business this year.” -- Kelly Watkins, President of
Expressive Concepts
“Thank you for
making my project ‘sing.’ You were able, in just a few hours, to
pull together things I’d been struggling with for months. My agent
is thrilled because it flows beautifully now with intrigue and sparkle.
What an amazing talent you have! And what a
joy you are to work
with.” - Cynthia Shapiro, author of Corporate Confidential

“Simply stated,
Sam is brilliant! She helped me more in five minutes to
crystallize my book project than I had accomplished fumbling along on my
own for three years. Sam gave me everything I needed to push my
project to completion. If you’re looking value, there is no one
better than Sam Horn.” Dr. Zayd Abdul-Karim, author of Deep
Transitions
“It was amazing
to meet you as I knew it would be. I fell in love with your
creativity just by listening to CD’s of your work, but what you do in
person is dramatically more powerful. I now feel much more clear
about the direction of my speaking career. I’ve been searching for
someone who could assist in that focus without losing the ‘real me.’
I have literally not stopped writing since I left your office.”
- Laura Harris, author of Grow Yourself, Grow Your Business
"We've been
lucky in our careers to work with great talent—from well-known
publishers, television producers and famous leaders. Sam Horn outshines
them all. Her probing questions, delightful manner and ability to get to
the heart of what is important in a project made a significant
difference in our book AND in our careers. Sam is a genius and anyone
who thinks seriously about writing a book, crafting a speech or building
a business shouldn't make a move without Sam Horn!" - Deborah
Stephens, Michealene Risley, Jackie Speier and Jan Yanehiro, co-authors
of This is Not The Life I Ordered
“Many thanks
for the invaluable consulting session yesterday. We got my
objectives accomplished and I have a solid direction to pursue. I
really enjoyed collaborating with you and getting so much off the
ground. I look forward to making these website changes and
developing my new marketing kit. You are aces!”
- Melissa Galt, Designing Your Signature Life
“Our time with
you was golden! Your suggestions were excellent, insightful, even
inspiring. You definitely saved us time, money, and most
importantly, the opportunity to make the best possible first impression.
You were worth every penny of your fee. I’d heard you were good.
I’m glad to have a direct experience.”
- Arden Bercovitz, author of What Would Einstein Do?
“There are
moments in life, like this one, where thank you does not seem
sufficient. I know this book would not be what it is without your
input, creativity, and kindness. On every book I craft from here
forward, I plan to use your services. You have an amazing gift.”
- Lori Silverman, Wake Me When The Data is Over (already in its
2nd printing after 1st month of publication)
John Strelecky,
a former professional volleyball player, and his wife Xin backpacked
70,000 miles around the world. In the middle of one of his adventures,
he was inspired to sit down and write a 161 page parable about a man who
was searching for the meaning of life and found it in a location “so
remote it’s in the middle of the middle of nowhere.”
John self-published his book when he returned home to Florida, thus
setting in motion a fortuitous and serendipitous string of events. Scott
Kauffman, career writer for USA Today discovered Why Cafe
and wrote this glowing review, “Simply put, this is a life-altering
book.”
All in all, John sold 10,000 copies of his book, largely through word of
mouth and the presentations that resulted from people reading his book
and asking him to speak to their group.
Then, John and I met at a convention at which I was speaking. John
signed on as a consulting client and I helped him develop a proposal
that showcased the commercial viability of his project. To make a long
story short, I then referred him a well-known and respected New York
literary agent. Doris signed him on the spot. A few
weeks later, John flew to New York and Doris sponsored a “breaking-out”
party for him at America’s largest publishing event, Book Expo.
As a result, John’s book was sold to Perseus Publishing in the U.S.,
with foreign rights deals to publishers in 15+ countries including
Japan, Korea, Brazil, Spain, Taiwan, Turkey, Singapore, and Germany. To
