Some clients communicate primarily via phone and Skype because they have a hurry-up deadline or busy schedule and don’t want to wait to work with Sam.  Rest assured, working “virtually” works well. Sam has a number of international clients who communicate exclusively via Skype, and they’re thrilled with the results they get because they can display their work on both computers while brainstorming/strategizing. 


5.  Do we need to schedule our time together?

6.  What kinds of things can Sam help me with? Can I ask her to help me develop a standout brand, develop a breakout book, coach me on my pitch presentation, or polish my proposal?

Certainly. Many clients praise Sam’s ability to assess their work and give precise feedback on how to make it more persuasive and powerful.  She's known for her ability to write tell ‘n sell copy from scratch that lands them a contract or closes a deal.

 

Please note:  Sam doesn’t just review your work in advance.   She digs deep into your history, values, and achievements and conducts market research to determine how you can zig where everyone else is sagging.  She takes copious notes, gives specific feedback, and adds her own intellectual capital that makes it one-of-a-kind. She is renowned for conjuring up original content and trademark-able NURDS (new words) that have launched careers and generated 6 and 7 figures in income.

7.  OK, What Does it Cost to Work with Sam, and what are the “specifics” of how this works?

.

 

a)    Upon selecting your preferred consulting package, we send you a questionnaire that helps you crystallize your current status regarding this priority and your goals for this project and your work with Sam.  Many people have told us that just filling out this questionnaire helped them gain valuable clarity about what’s needed to make their project more commercially-viable.

 

b)    You send the completed questionnaire and relevant material you want Sam to review before your appointment so she can immerse yourself in your work. 

 

For example, if you are working with Sam on a book proposal, you might send your Table of Contents, articles you’ve written on the topic, your description of presentations you’ve given on this topic, your bio and credentials, etc.

 

If you want Sam’s help polishing a pitch or presentation, you might send your power point slides, a DVD or video clip you’ve already created, your program outline, speaker one-sheet, etc. 

 

 

c)     Sam spends 4-6 hours in advance reviewing this material in advance.  This includes making notes about your priorities and submitted questions and goals, studying your website, researching your company history, watching your video, looking at your blog, etc.  She identifies what's NOT being included that could make your project even more powerful. 

 

 This is also where Sam puts her mind to work on YOUR behalf.  She starts “noodling” as to your USP (Unique Strategic Positioning) and combines her 20+ years in the speaking and publishing industry with her proprietary POP! process to start conjuring up elevator intros that describe what you do so people instantly get it and want it, possible taglines, proprietary phrases, trade-markable titles and unique approaches so your priority doesn’t look or sound like anyone else. This is also where Sam starts thinking about current events and how to position you so your message is relevant, fresh and convincing for your target audience.

 

 

 

d)    For the Gold Package - you meet in person with Sam for a day (6 hours).  (This can be broken into three 2 hour phone appointments if you’re not able to meet in person).

 

At the beginning of this time, Sam reports out her findings about your project and gives specific recommendations on how to POP! it to maximize its success.  The remainder of the day is spent integrating her suggestions and working together to polish your proposal, pitch, presentation, website/blog copy, marketing materials, social media outreach, and YOUR priorities.

 

This is an intense, productive day.  Many people tell Sam they get more SMART “love-it-can-use-it-immediately” ideas from her in ONE HOUR than they have from months of working with other consultants. 

 

You are encouraged to record this session.  Many clients tell us they listen to these recordings again and again.  They hear something new each time and often take the languaging Sam comes up with right off the recording and insert it into their book jacket, presentation description, speaker one-sheet, website homepage, power-point presentation, investor pitch, etc.

 

Whatever your priority is, Sam makes sure to fit it in with your overall business goals so it’s a strategic pay-off.  Throughout the day, you’ll constantly run what you produce together by her criteria to make sure your work pays off for you in the months and years ahead.

e)    As a bonus, we offer a free 1 hour follow-up phone consulting call to be scheduled at your convenience within 3 months following your appointment.  This is an opportunity to report progress, share successes, ask questions, get Sam’s advice and strategic recommendations about what additional steps you can take to maximize your success.

 

f)      For the Platinum Package – you get all the above except you meet with Sam for 2 days.  This can be done together (on a weekend or 2 consecutive weekdays) or each day can be scheduled separately.  This is ideal for people who want to work on several priorities at the same time – or who want to go deep into developing a one-of-a-kind book or presentation. There are 2 additional 1 hour consulting phone calls to be scheduled within 6 months with the Platinum Packages.

 Let's put fees in perspective.

 

Clients consistently tell us Sam is THE BEST strategist/consultant they’ve ever had the privilege to work with.  Many have experienced frustration and disappointment with other “experts” who made big claims and couldn’t deliver on them.   

 

The messaging we come up with isn't just for your book, presentation or pitch - the intriguing languaging often goes right into your website copy, e-commerce, and marketing collateral and helps you POP! your brand and business so it wins buy-in from target customers.

If you're a successful speaker, this fee probably represents what you normally make for one presentation.  If you’re a trainer or consultant, this represents what you would get paid for a workshop or a day of consulting for a corporate client.

 

If you're an author, this fee represents a fraction of the advance and royalties you could generate -  not to mention the tens or hundreds of thousands of dollars you’ll receive from speaking engagements, media attention and contracts you’ll get as a result of Sam helping you create a quality book that is sold around the world. A client told Sam, “I paid 5 figures for a publicist for my previous book and didn’t get one review or interview.  I got more ideas, results and tangible value from you in one day than I did in three months of working with that publicist.”

 

If you're an entrepreneur, this fee represents a small portion of the income you'll derive from new customers, new products, improved services and sales.  One Inc. 500 client told Sam that the concise, compelling elevator intro they developed together resulted in three new clients at one networking event.  A therapist told Sam a tele-seminar she conducted as a result of their work together filled her calendar with new clients who were impressed with her style and approach.

 

If you're seeking funding, this fee represents a small percentage of what you could receive from investors or sponsors.  One client with severe stagefright told Sam that she went from being petrified to delivering a confident pitch that helped her secure matching funds from her state.

 

If you're running a non-profit, this represents a small portion of the grants, donations and contributions that result from an in-integrity, attention-grabbing promotional campaign.  One client (full disclosure, this is my son Andrew Horn, who heads up Dreams for Kids in Wash DC) used the media outreach strategy we generated to land press coverage from the Washington Post and Fox News which has scaled their credibility and visibility and earned a trip to the White House.

 

In other words, the money you pay to work with Sam will generate visionary ideas, breakout branding and positioning, add-value-for-everyone approaches that pay off for you in multiple ways, for years to come, earning back many times over your initial investment.

 

And yes – we do have a payment plan.  You are welcome to divide the amount into three monthly payments if that works better for your cash flow.  Just add a $20 a month fee to cover the additional administrative costs.

8. How do I make payment?

Box 6810, Los Osos, CA 93412. Upon receipt of payment, we’ll send a letter of agreement which you sign and send back. As soon as we receive that, we’ll email that questionnaire and you let us know when you want to schedule your time with Sam. 

 

(Please note, Sam works out of Wash DC near the Dulles airport.  Cheri manages her business and handles payments, scheduling, etc. from the CA office (near Morro Bay and Hearst Castle).  Please communicate with Cheri if you have any administrative questions regarding your consulting package.
